问：11月18日，耶路撒冷一座犹太教堂众多犹太教祷告者遇袭，多人死伤。中方对此有何评论？

Q: A Jerusalem synagogue crowded with Judaism worshippers was assaulted on November 18, leaving many people dead and hurt. What is China’s comment on that?

答：近来，在耶路撒冷和约旦河西岸地区发生了多起针对巴以双方人员的暴力事件，中方对此予以强烈谴责。我们再次敦促以巴双方保持克制，避免采取使局势紧张升级的行为。

A: There have been several incidents of violence against both Palestinians and Israelis in Jerusalem and the West Bank over the recent period of time, which the Chinese side strongly condemns. We once again urge the Israeli and Palestinian sides to exercise restraint and avoid taking actions that escalate the tension.

事实反复证明，以暴易暴只能导致暴力循环，增加双方仇恨。和谈是解决巴以问题的唯一正确途径，希望双方相向而行，争取早日恢复和谈，以实现共同安全和持久和平。

It has been proved again and again that to meet violence with violence will only make violence repeat itself in endless cycles and flare up the hatred between the two sides. The only right way out for the Palestine-Israel issue is to hold the peace talks. We hope that the two sides will work with each other in the same direction and strive to resume the peace talks at an early date, so as to realize common security and lasting peace.

问：据报道，针对联合国日前通过朝鲜人权决议案，朝外务省发表声明称，该决议以及美国对朝攻击行径使朝鲜无法再克制进行新的核试验，朝将无限制地加强军事威慑。中方对此有何评论？

Q: In response to the resolution on the DPRK human rights issue recently adopted by the UN, the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK issued a statement, saying that the resolution and the aggression by the US leave the DPRK unable to further refrain from staging a new nuclear test, and that the DPRK will beef up its military deterrence unlimitedly. What is China’s comment on that?

答：中方一贯主张各国通过建设性对话与合作处理人权领域的分歧。

A: The Chinese side always maintains that all countries should handle differences in the field of human rights through constructive dialogue and cooperation.

中方在朝核问题上的立场是明确和坚定的，那就是要坚持实现半岛无核化，坚持维护半岛和平稳定，坚持通过对话协商以和平方式解决问题。有关各方应共同致力于对话接触、缓和局势，为早日重启六方会谈创造条件。

The Chinese side holds a clear and firm position on the Korean nuclear issue, that is, we should stay committed to realizing denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, safeguarding peace and stability of the Peninsula and peacefully resolving the issue through dialogue and consultation. All parties concerned should work with joint efforts to reduce the tension through dialogue and contact and create conditions for an early resumption of the Six-Party Talks.

问：美国“国会-行政部门中国委员会”上周要求通过一项呼吁美国重新关注香港民主政制的议案，中方对此有何回应？

Q: The US Congressional-Executive Commission on China (CECC) put forward a bill last week calling for renewed US commitment to the democratic and constitutional development of Hong Kong. What is China’s response?

答：香港的政制、民主发展是香港的内部事务，是中国的内政。任何外国政府、机构和人员都不得干涉。

A: The constitutional and democratic development of Hong Kong falls within Hong Kong’s internal affairs and China’s domestic affairs, which allows no interference by any foreign government, institution or personnel.
