问：日前召开的东盟外长会议讨论了推动建立东盟共同体及东盟发展前景等议题。中方对此有何评论？

Q: ASEAN foreign ministers discussed at a retreat the building of the ASEAN Community and the development prospect of ASEAN. What is China’s comment on that?

答：东盟是推进东亚合作、维护地区和平与发展的重要力量。东盟共同体将是本地区第一个次区域共同体，它的建成将对本地区的一体化进程产生重要而深远的影响。中国支持东盟共同体建设，支持东盟在东亚合作中的主导地位，将坚持把东盟作为周边外交的优先方向，愿同东盟一道，以携手建设更为紧密的中国—东盟命运共同体为目标，落实好“2+7合作框架”，增进政治互信，深化务实合作，推动双方战略伙伴关系不断取得新进展。

A: ASEAN is a major force to promote East Asia cooperation and safeguard regional peace and development. The building of the ASEAN Community, the first sub-regional one in the region, will have a crucial and far-reaching influence over the integration process of the region. China supports the building of the ASEAN Community as well as ASEAN centrality in East Asia cooperation. Putting ASEAN on top of China’s neighborhood diplomatic agenda, China will work together with ASEAN toward the goal of building a more closely-knit China-ASEAN community of common destiny, fully implement the 2+7 cooperation framework, enhance political mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation, and strive for new progress of the bilateral strategic partnership.

问：近日，以色列同叙利亚、黎巴嫩边界地区发生交火事件，导致部分人员伤亡。以叙、以黎局势趋于紧张。中方对此有何评论？

Q: The clash along a tract of land where the borders of Israel, Lebanon and Syria meet has caused casualties. What is China’s comment on the Israel-Syria and Israel-Lebanon situation that is becoming tense?

答：中方对近来以叙、以黎局势紧张升级表示关切，对有关冲突造成伤亡深表遗憾。我们呼吁有关各方尽最大努力保持克制，避免冲突进一步加剧。

A: The Chinese side is concerned about the ratcheted-up tensions between Israel and Syria as well as between Israel and Lebanon. We express deep regret at the casualties caused by the clash and call on all parties concerned to exercise maximum restraint and prevent the situation from worsening.
