屈子当年赋楚骚，

手中握有杀人刀。

艾萧太盛椒兰少，

一跃冲向万里涛。

A Verse with Four Seven-Character Lines

Qu Yuan

Autumn 1961

The respected Qu wrote “Chu Sao” in those years,

And had a killing knife in his hand.

The mugworts were too luxuriant while peppers and bluegrasses too few,

So he jumped up, plunging into the vast expanse of surging water.
