Léopold Sédar Senghor considered
that Francophonie held out “hope for brotherhood in a context of mutual respect
and dialogue of cultures”. That message of peace amid cultural diversity is
fully consonant with UNESCO’s mission. It can help us to live better together,
guided by concern for the common good in a globalized world.
莱奥波尔德·塞达尔·桑戈尔从法语国家中看到了“在相互尊重和文化对话中走向四海一家的希望”。文化多样性所传递的和平信息与教科文组织的职责完全契合。它有助于我们在全球化的世界中虑及共同利益，更好地共处。
French is in this regard much
more than a language: it is a set of values, a commitment to human rights, an
intellectual and historical benchmark, a promise of diversity. It is a living
heritage shared by 200 million speakers on all continents, and particularly in
Africa, a UNESCO Global Priority. It is a tremendous force that drives
fulfilment, development and peace. It is also a means of building opportunities
for exchange and cooperation, crucial to taking up challenges that no State,
however powerful, can resolve singlehandedly.
因此，法语绝不仅仅是一种语言：它还意味着一套价值观，对人权的信守，思想和历史的标尺，对多样性的承诺。世界各大陆，特别是在教科文组织优先重视的非洲，法语的使用者超过两亿人，法语是他们共享的一项活的遗产。法语是促进繁荣、发展与和平的巨大力量。它也是构建交流与合作空间的手段。交流与合作对于应对挑战不可或缺，任何一个国家——无论多么强大——都无法独自应对这些挑战。
UNESCO loves, speaks and promotes
French – one of its six official languages and one of the two working languages
at its Headquarters. Such linguistic diversity is regarded as a mainspring for
the renewal of the ideas, creativity and universalism that UNESCO seeks to
promote. UNESCO’s special link to the International Organisation of La
Francophonie is unique, and we shall continue to promote Francophonie at major
international summits and in our daily work.
教科文组织喜爱、使用和倡导法语——这是我们的六种正式语言之一，也是总部的两种工作语言之一。我们将这种语言多样性视为推动教科文组织倡导的思想更新、创造力和普遍性的动力。教科文组织与法语国家国际组织的特殊关系具有独特的地位，我们将继续在重大国际峰会和我们的日常工作中倡导使用法语。
In celebrating Francophonie, we
show our attachment to this humanist and universal message and to its
dissemination worldwide. With this, we contribute also to making international
cooperation a tangible reality for us all.
庆祝法语日，我们以此展示对这一普遍人文信息的认同，确保它在世界各地的传播。这也是为使国际合作变成我们每一个人都能感受到的现实做出贡献。 |
