Welcome to Xinhua News Agency to attend the press conference launching the new version of Xinhuanet, our online news service.

 

这个大厅与新华网有特殊的渊源。18年前，新华社在这里举行了新闻信息全面入网启播仪式。从那时起，新华社每天播发的新闻信息都通过新华网直达网民。

 

This hall has special meaning for Xinhuanet, as it was where Xinhua News Agency held an opening ceremony to launch the website 18 years ago. Since then, users have been able to read news and information from Xinhua around the clock by surfing Xinhuanet.

 

18年的历程中，新华网迅速发展成为中国最具影响力的新闻信息服务门户网站，是互联网新闻传播领域的国家队、主力军。

 

After 18 years of rapid development, Xinhuanet has become the most influential news website in China, and a key platform for releasing news.

 

今天，我们在这里共同见证，新华网以全新的面貌，开启新的征程。

 

Today, we are here to witness the start of a new journey with a brand-new version of the site.

 

新华网本次改版的理念是“让新闻离你更近”。打开新版网站，网民能立刻感受到首页右侧“大屏幕”所带来的视觉冲击。这款“全媒体播放器”，集成图片、视频、音频等多种表现形式，将发生在全球各地的重大新闻以多媒体形态立体呈现在网民眼前，给网民带来全新的沉浸式体验。

 

The concept of this version is “With us, you are closer to the news”. Browsing the site, users will experience a visual feast in a column on the right side of the homepage. Composed of photos, video, audio and other news formats, the “All-media player” will tell major news stories in a multimedia form.

 

新华网将进一步巩固发布重大新闻的独家优势，致力于为网民提供最权威、最及时的新闻信息服务。新版首页开设了“新华深度”板块，以多媒体形态集中展示新华社的精品报道。同时推出的动新闻、数据新闻、时空新闻等创新产品，将先进技术与优质内容相融合，进一步扩大传播效应。

 

Xinhuanet will consolidate its leading position in exclusively releasing major news. And it is committed to providing users with the most authoritative and the most timely service. The new version has a column called “Xinhua In-depth”, focusing on quality Xinhua content in a multimedia form. At the same time, this version features many modern means of news production and processing, highlighting 3D news, infographics and interactive timelines – advanced technology will be integrated with quality content to further expand Xinhuanet’s influence.

 

新版新华网在首页开辟了“新华网络电视”和“新华广播”专区，为新华社的音视频业务提供了更加贴近网民的展示平台。通过新华网，主要面向海外受众的CNC电视节目将实现更有效的传播，曾在新华社历史上书写下光辉篇章的“新华广播电台”也将在网络时代得到传承。

 

Two special columns “Xinhua Internet TV” and “Xinhua Radio” provide users with more direct channels for audio and video content. Via Xinhuanet, Xinhua’s CNC television news programs that mainly target international viewers will reach users more effectively. In addition, “Xinhua Radio Station”, which has made many splendid historic achievements, will be renewed in the Internet era.

 

以本次新华网改版为契机，手机新华网同步改版，采用瀑布流、页面自适应等多种技术手段，将新华网从“桌面上”移到了“手指间”。网民通过手机等移动终端，可以便捷浏览新华网所有页面，还能通过二维码等接口直接访问感兴趣的内容，轻松实现在社交平台的传播和分享。

 

Taking this as an opportunity, a synchronous launch of a new version of Mobile Xinhuanet has greeted Internet users. With techniques such as an infinite scrolling function and automatic display adaptation, Xinhuanet goes from desktop to fingertips. Through smartphones and other mobile devices, Internet users can easily check out all Xinhuanet’s webpages, obtain content by scanning QR codes, as well as share content in their social media platforms.

 

经过重新设计的网站页面，沉稳大气、简明流畅。从视觉效果，到交互功能，处处体现出新华网的独特品质。仅首页一项，新华网就制作了27版草图，设计了近170个模板。与旧版相比，新版页面体积减少了82%，响应效率提高了35%。

 

Well-designed webpages demonstrate the characteristics of a quality website in terms of visuals and interactivity. During the design of the homepage, for instance, 27 drafts and about 170 trial templates were made. Compared to the previous version, the new version has reduced the volume of page by 82 percent but has resulted in a 35-percent rise in responsiveness.

 

值得一提的是，新华网积极探索新闻报道的新技术、新形态，组建了新闻网站首家无人机队，超前布局国内无人机新闻报道领域，以多维视角采集新闻，建立重大突发事件的无人机新闻采集和传播机制。作为首个全国性无人机新闻项目，无人机队采制的内容将成为新华网新闻报道中的亮点。

 

It is worth mentioning that Xinhuanet has explored creative ways of news and information gathering by using drones. This is becoming a highlight in Xinhuanet reports.

 

新华网新版上线，是新华社贯彻落实中央关于推动传统媒体和新兴媒体融合发展决策部署的一项重要举措。新华网将依托新华社遍布全球的新闻信息采集网络，不断创新新闻传播的理念、形态、模式，建设具有广泛国际影响的一流新闻网站，为新华社打造在新媒体领域发挥主导作用的“网上通讯社”注入新的活力。

 

The launch of the new version of Xinhuanet is a crucial step in promoting integration of traditional and new media. Based on Xinhua News Agency’s worldwide news and information gathering network, Xinhuanet will continue to innovate in the concept, form and pattern of news transmission, striving to make Xinhuanet a world-class and internationally influential news website and building an online news agency that plays a dominant role in the sphere of new media.

 

一周前，我们在这里举行了新华社客户端新版发布会。

 

新华网和新华社客户端，是新华社直接面向亿万网民的两个窗口，是新华社推进媒体融合发展的两个轮子。这两个终端平台全新亮相，标志着新华社“双轮驱动”融合发展战略，迈出了新的坚实步伐。

 

Just one week ago, we held a press conference here to launch the new version of Xinhua News Agency’s Chinese news app. Xinhuanet and the Xinhua news app have offered tens of millions of Internet users “windows” into Xinhua News Agency. They are the two wheels of Xinhua in advancing the integration between traditional and new media. The new versions of the two platforms represented a key step Xinhua has taken toward media integration.

 

一个人18岁就成年了。18岁的新华网也迎来了新的开始。我相信，新华网作为中国新闻信息服务门户网站的领军者，将在新的起点再度腾飞，飞得更高、飞得更远。

 

One becomes an adult at 18 years old, and Xinhuanet has also made a new start at the age of 18. I believe Xinhuanet, as a leading Chinese news website, will attain greater achievements in the future.
