With the Olympic Winter Games about to get underway, let me take this opportunity to wish you the very best of luck. Every single one of you competing for Team GB in Sochi has shown huge sacrifice and strength of character to get this far and back in Britain we are enormously proud of every single one of you. Competing for your country in front of the world is something very few athletes ever achieve so please make the most of this incredible opportunity. It’s an opportunity to achieve all your personal milestones and dreams and I know how determined all of you are to do yourselves justice and compete to the very best of your ability. And it’s also an opportunity to inspire our country. In the summer of 2012, we saw in London the raw power of sport to inspire, to bring a nation together and two years on, that flame now lies in your hands. In doing so, you’ve got the whole country behind you, and I wish you every success over the next couple of weeks. Have a great Games.
