We walked to the west town, visited the monk at his lodgings, passed endless alleys, mixed with diverse ethnic people, butchers and wine sellers, you name it. By the time I got home, the third-watch drum had already sounded. The door was closed. Inside, people were sound asleep and snoring. I put away my staff and laughed. What is gain or loss?
