It’s an incredible pleasure to be here with you today. The fact is if we are indeed running late, it is always because I have way more questions than people expect. Put me in a room full of engineers and gadgets and we’ll be there all day if I’m allowed. So we’re actually doing very, very well on time this morning.文章源自英文巴士-https://www.en84.com/1505.html

It’s a great way to kick off this week. We are celebrating an exceptional accomplishment in Canadian innovation. I don’t want to take up too much of your time. It’s only Monday and I know people have a lot of things to do. If you’re like me, you still have a lot of Christmas shopping to do. But I do want to say a few things about why this launch today matters.文章源自英文巴士-https://www.en84.com/1505.html

Earlier this fall, it was announced that Ford Motor Company would outfit future vehicles with BlackBerry’s QNX and security software. With this expanded partnership, Ford has placed its trust and confidence in BlackBerry, and with good reason. BlackBerry has long been a proud story of homegrown Canadian success. It has built a reputation on bold innovation, industry-leading security and visionary leadership. And following this new partnership with Ford, BlackBerry is ready to push the limits of innovation once again with the creation of the new Technology Innovation Centre for Autonomous Vehicles.
This centre is more than a hub for research and innovation in the automotive sector, indeed it stands as a testament to a deeply entrenched culture of innovation here in our nation’s capital. Coupled with the fact that this centre will create well-paying, high-skilled jobs for middle-class Canadians, this launch is a huge win for BlackBerry, for workers and for families, because at the end of the day, we know that strong, resilient economies are built around an ever-pressing desire to create and to innovate. And the work that’s going into this space and the leadership that Canada, with companies like BlackBerry and QNX, is going to be able to show in the coming years, will truly demonstrate how Canadians and Canada are at the forefront of where the world is going and where it needs to get safely.
And when we innovate, we create not just jobs and opportunities. We also create communities where people can better live and work. We create more dynamic places that feel like home. Today’s announcement is good news for everyone who lives here in Kanata and across the Ottawa region. It’s a great day for a proudly Canadian company and its subsidiaries.
Congratulations to BlackBerry and QNX. Keep up your excellent work. Thank you very much.
