I’m honoured and privileged to be carrying the flag as Australia’s new Ambassador for Women and Girls. Promoting women’s economic empowerment is one of the main pillars of Australia’s Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Strategy. This supports our other priorities of enhancing women’s voice in decision-making, leadership and peace-building; and ending violence against women and girls.文章源自英文巴士-https://www.en84.com/2083.html
Genuinely sustainable, prosperous and peaceful societies will only become a reality when women and girls have full and equal share in economic life.
The importance of women’s economic empowerment is also recognised in the theme of this year’s UN Commission on the Status of Women.
While more women than ever are entering the workforce and participating in many sectors of the global economy, they still often face exploitation and discrimination. We must therefore find smarter and better ways to work together in overturning these barriers.
So, as Australia’s Ambassador for Women and Girls, I will work tirelessly and bring meaningful change to the quality of lives of women and girls in our Indo-Asia Pacific region and around the world.
