Regarding Taiwan’s foreign exchanges and participation in international activities as you asked, I would like to emphasize that there is but one China in the world. The mainland and Taiwan belong to one and the same China whose sovereignty and territorial integrity brook no division. This is the international consensus.

In dealing with issues about Taiwan’s foreign exchanges and participation in international activities, our consistent position is adhering to the one-China principle and opposing “Taiwan independence”, “two Chinas” and “one China, one Taiwan”.

A: On your first question, I gave initial response when asked about this issue yesterday. There is a fishery agreement between China and the ROK. Related activities by the two sides shall be governed by the agreement. We are trying to get more information about the issue, and are in contact with the ROK side through the diplomatic channel. As I said yesterday, we hope that the ROK can handle the issue in a reasonable and cool-headed way with the overall interests of bilateral relations in mind.
关于你提到的第二个问题，我们也多次重申我们的立场。我们坚决反对朝鲜进行第五次核试验，也赞同安理会就此做出进一步的反应，同时我们认为安理会的有关反应应该指向明确，主要针对朝鲜的核活动，应该有助于实现半岛无核化的目标，有助于维护半岛的和平稳定。目前中方正与有关各方就此进行着密切协商。
On your second question, we have stated our position on multiple occasions. We firmly oppose the fifth nuclear test by the DPRK, and stand for further reaction by the Security Council. We believe that the reaction by the Security Council should be clearly targeted against nuclear activities by the DPRK for the purposes of realizing denuclearization and maintaining peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula. The Chinese side is consulting with relevant parties about that.
