But, as members of our Hindu community come together with their friends and families – and as Sikhs gather to mark Bandi Chhor Divas – it is also an opportunity for us all to reflect on the story behind the festival. That message lies at the heart of the story of Britain’s million-strong Indian community, which for so long has worked so hard to sow the seeds of integration, extend the hand of friendship and help make the UK the thriving, outward-looking nation it is today.文章源自英文巴士-https://www.en84.com/6088.html
And it is also a lesson we would all do well to learn, wherever our roots lie and whatever faith we follow.
So, this week, let us all open our hearts and minds to the story behind the Festival of Light.
And, to all those celebrating, let me wish you a very happy Diwali and happy Bandi Chhor Divas.
