The past few months haven’t been easy for anyone. But for British Muslims, first, you had to observe Ramadan, normally such a social time, under lockdown. And then, many wanting to perform Hajj have had their hopes dashed because of the restrictions relating to the virus.文章源自英文巴士-https://www.en84.com/9577.html

So I want to say a huge thank-you for the sacrifices you’ve made and for all your heroic efforts – literally, helping to save lives through social distancing, giving generously to those in need, and looking after the vulnerable as you have through food donations and other help.文章源自英文巴士-https://www.en84.com/9577.html

And of course, the part played by so many British Muslims in working on the frontline of this pandemic – from the amazing doctors, nurses and NHS staff who kept on carrying throughout the crisis, putting others first, and sadly, in some cases, losing their own lives.文章源自英文巴士-https://www.en84.com/9577.html
I want to thank the key workers in other sectors: the teachers, the police, care workers and those who kept our transport running.
And now, as everyone looks forward to Eid al-Adha, which celebrates the Islamic values of duty and self-sacrifice, I urge you to keep up the excellent work with social distancing and limiting the number of friends and families in your homes and engaging in the test and trace process, if there are cases of coronavirus in your area, to help protect you, yourselves and to help protect others.
Of course, things will be different again this Eid al-Adha, including Eid prayers. But it is my fervent hope that you do get to enjoy the festivities and get some incredibly good things to eat.
Let me wish all Muslims, here in the UK and around the world, the very best for Eid al-Adha. Eid Mubarak.
